Attending a class raises both the classes-attended and classes-held counts, while skipping one raises only the second. That asymmetry is why recovering costs more classes than falling behind did — and why the “must attend” figure grows every time you miss another. Medical and duty leave rules vary by institution and are not modelled here.
If you are above the requirement, the useful number is how many classes you can miss consecutively before dropping below it. If you are below, it is how many you must attend consecutively to recover — which is always more, because attending raises both the attended and the held count while skipping raises only one.
It depends on how many have already been held, not just your current percentage. With 42 of 56 attended you are at exactly 75% and cannot miss any; with 50 of 56 you are at 89% and can miss 10 in a row. Enter your real numbers rather than working from the percentage alone.
Because skipping a class only increases the total held, while attending one increases both the total held and the number attended. The gap therefore closes more slowly than it opened — missing three classes typically takes far more than three to undo.
Most Indian universities set 75%, some 80%, and a few departments differ from their institution. Medical leave, duty leave and condonation schemes vary widely and are not modelled here — check your own handbook before relying on any figure.
