GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) is where Kubernetes was born — it has the most mature managed Kubernetes offering. BigQuery is GCPs flagship serverless analytics database — it can query petabytes of data in seconds with no infrastructure to manage. Cloud SQL is the managed relational database equivalent to AWS RDS. Cloud Run is GCPs serverless container platform — it runs any containerised application without managing clusters. Understanding these services and how they compare to AWS equivalents enables engineers to make informed decisions in multi-cloud environments and to leverage GCPs unique capabilities where they excel.
